Bachelor of Social Work: Programme Specific Outcomes
After successful completion of the BSW programme, students will develop the ability to:
  • Appreciate Social Work profession and practice.
  • Uphold professional values and ethics of Social Work.
  • Pursue Master programme in Social Work.
  • Advance human rights, social, economic and environmental justice.
  • Intervene with individual, families, groups, organizations & the communities in need and
  • Engage in practice-informed research and research-informed generalist social work practice.
Bachelor of Social Work-I: Course Outcome
After successful completion of the BSW-I, students will develop the ability to:
  • Understand the values and principles of social work
  • Understand the Fields of social work
  • Understand the social system and structures
  • Understand social problems and importance of social work intervention
  • Understand and develop the basic skills required for social work practice
  • Understand the importance of promotion of National Integration and peace Building Initiatives
  • Inculcate Universal values for life transformation
Bachelor of Social Work-II: Course Outcome
After successful completion of the BSW-II, students will develop the ability to:
  • Understand the Primary methods of social work
  • Practice social work under the supervision of professionals
  • Understand the functioning of different NGOS/GOs
  • Understand legal procedure and can work as paralegal volunteers
  • Understand the dimensions of human behaviour
  • Understand the concept of rescue, relief and rehabilitation in disaster management
  • Develop communication and life skills
Bachelor of Social Work-III: Course Outcome
After successful completion of the BSW-III, students will develop the ability to:
  • Take up mini research project / Society Empowerment Project
  • Understand the concept of Social Welfare Administration
  • Prepare Memorandum of Association/Bye Law of NGO
  • Prepare Annual Report of NGO
  • Consolidate experiential learning for social work practice
  • Choose Social Work career opportunities
  • Practice ICT and Soft skills

  • Understand the administrative functions in the organization
  • Understand the administration of different labour laws
  • Understand HRD and change management
  • Process the legal compliances

Master of Social Work-II: Medical and Psychiatric Social Work: Course Outcome
After successful completion of the MSW-II (MPSW), students will develop the ability to
  • Understand the role and importance of social work practice in medical and psychiatric setting
  • Understand Classification , Diagnosis and Management of Mental Disorders
  • Understand Case Management, Home Visit and Follow up.
  • Understand the concept of hospital management.
  • Understand the functioning of rehabilitation centre
  • Conduct Therapeutic counseling sessions.
  • Conduct Research
Master of Social Work-II: Urban and Rural Community Development Outcome
After successful completion of the MSW-II (URCD), students will develop the ability to
  • Deal appropriately with the urban, rural and tribal groups and develop comprehensive understanding of management of natural resources at state and global level.
  • Distinguish between professional and personal self.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Human rights and social justice issues through dalit, women and tribal perspective.
  • Understand the methods and tools of community organization and community development.
  • Understand the scope of community organization and community development.
  • Understand the importance of democratic decentralization, structure, functions, and status of local self governance in Indian society.
  • Understand and deal with social issues.
  • Become more knowledgeable with regard to management of community development projects.
  • Enhance skills for effective community development project management.
  • Exhaustive understanding of various sectors of development in Indian context.
